FLASH NOTES: On the road for the third straight game and the fourth time in the first half of the 2017 season, the Eagles get back into facing a county rival to end play in September.
Cold Springs has run into strong opponents in its last two games, falling to Tarrant and Falkville from 2A, Region 7.
The Eagles played well to start the new season for three quarters with Hanceville, heading into the final period tied at 20-20. Hanceville scored twice in the fourth, using big plays and field position to knock off the Eagles.
A week later, Rod Elliott's team came from behind in the fourth quarter with Berry. That is the only time they have seen a game under the lights at Cranford Stricklin Stadium this season.
The Eagles are out to snap a 7-game road losing streak. Their last victory on the road was September 25 of 2016 in a 26-16 triumph at West End in Walnut Grove.
Cold Springs' offense has managed just two touchdowns in the last two road games. A young offense that rotates a freshman and a sophomore at quarterback, is looking for improvement in all phases with half of the season remaining to be played.
