FLASH NOTES: A pair of 2A schools went after each other with a sensational first half in which they were nine lead changes and eight ties.
Cold Springs held the upper hand after the opening eight minutes with a 15-13 advantage.
But Phil Campbell got good scoring from Abby Davis, Chloe Roberson and Dakota Elliott, breaking a 30-30 in the final minute to go into the locker room up by the score of 34-30.
Cold Springs was down 41-35 after a Davis three-point play with 5:00 to go in the third. They answered with a 7-0 run as Elizabeth Hill knocked down a trey from the wing that put them in front 42-41.
But the rest of the quarter belonged to Phil Campbell. They moved in front on free throws in the closing seconds by Roberson and took a 50-48 lead into the final stanza.
Forty-five seconds into the fourth, Camryn Crider gave Cold Springs the lead on a three, making it 51-50. Phil Campbell ran off seven straight points and was never behind the rest of the evening.
Toni West cut the margin for Cold Springs to 60-56 with free throws at the 1:50 mark. Hill missed two after a steal two seconds later and Phil Campbell would extend the lead by scoring from the line, sealing victory in the remaining 30 seconds.
Davis was tops for the Bobcats with 19, Roberson 15 and Elliott 11.
Hill had the hot hand for the Lady Eagles with 24 points, Crider 13, Aubrey Negron 11, West seven, Neely Ellison three and Kylon Hamby one.
