FLASH NOTES: Fairview's 3-point shooting gave the Aggies an advantage as they made seven in the opening half and took a 31-21 lead with 4:25 to play in the second.
Southside spent most of the game trailing and never stopped in working through adversity. The Panthers narrowed it to 34-30 at the half.
Southside clamped down on the Aggies' deep shot, not giving up a trey for the rest of the night.
Unable to shoot consistently from the foul line, the Aggies saw a nine-point lead inside the final 4:00 of regulation slip through the grasp.
Five missed free throws, with three coming on technical foul attempts after a Southside player received one technical and head coach Donnie Holderfield got the other.
The Panthers evened the score at 57-57 when they nailed a three with 0:44 to go. Neither could get off a good looking shot the rest of the way, the contest was carried into an extra four minutes.
Nunn tossed in a FG to put Southside ahead with Bryson Fletcher scoring from close range for the Aggies that made it 59-59.
The score stayed even until the Aggies turned the ball over in the final seconds, allowing Southside possession.
The Panthers worked it near the basket as Lengyel got it up and in with 0:04 to break the deadlock.
A desperate three as time expired by Cameron Guthrie missed.
Fairview's game that was scheduled at Holly Pond, has been moved to Thursday, due to the threat of inclement weather in the area tomorrow.
