Dafford Smith Stadium - Fairview
HOLLY POND: 6-3
SERIES: Fairview 35-19-2
2016: Fairview 62-35
LAST WEEK: Holly Pond defeated Vinemont 40-9
Fairview lost to Springville 24-0
FLASH NOTES: Fairview has had its toughest season in the George Redding era. The Aggies failed to gain a victory in 5A, Region 6, suffered a shutout in visiting Springville for the first time and have had the fewest total victories in a season since a 1-9 record in 2006.
But all can change in one evening, taking some of the sting of a tough season away. Holly Pond is playoff bound for the second straight year, coming to Fairview 6-3 and fresh off a game in which they controlled from the opening kickoff.
This is an opportunity for the Aggies to bid 2017 in a positive farewell. Redding needs one victory to surpass Dafford Smith in all time wins at Fairview. Both have 65.
Redding puts an undefeated record vs. the Broncos on the line. The Aggies have won 10 straight against Holly Pond.
A win here would avoid a winless season at Smith Stadium in playing a full home schedule on campus for the first time since 2013.
