MOULTON - Fairview High School was fifth in the large school division, opening the cross country season Saturday in the Pepsi Challenge at Lawrence County High School.
The event was postponed Thursday due to severe weather issues. Conditions improved Saturday with temperature in the low 70s, low humidity, but a very wet 5K course.
Qunton Chambers earned a ninth place finish leading Hobson Hite's Aggies with a time of 18:22. The winner was Brewer's Conner Sims, crossing the line at 17:19.
A.J. Diaz was 27th, Cody Fallin 28th, Keagan Hardin 31st, Will Butler 32nd and Austin Lowe 49th.
Scottsboro claimed the large division with 20 points, Lawrence County was second with 66, Brewer 3rd at 71, Sparkman in fourth at 88, Fairview fifth with 125 and Ardmore sixth at 181.
Fairview is scheduled in the Cullman 2-mile next Saturday that will end on the track of Oliver Woodard Stadium.
