FLASH NOTES: In a log jammed Region 6, Good Hope can stay around the berth to the postseason if they win at a place that is not easy for the visitor to be successful.
The Raiders are 1-1 all time in Winfield. The Pirates have won two games on campus this season, including a 41-12 blasting of Cordova in regional play.
Good Hope got 250 yards passing by sophomore QB Bailey Quick last week in the HC shutout of Cold Springs. He threw for three touchdowns with the throws going to Kyle Carlton, Preston Bagwell and Matt Dixon.
Dixon hauled in a 44-yard pass late in the second quarter that carried the Raiders to a 27-0 lead at the half. Quick sprinted for a 34-yard run to the end zone in the third stanza and the Raiders posted their second shutout of the season for coach Alan Scott.
Good Hope has showed it can play with poise on the road. The Raiders stunned Hamilton three weeks ago with a 28-yard TD pass by Quick to Matt Hancock on the final play of the game in a 33-28 victory.
But the Raiders are without Hancock for the rest of the season, recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in the Cordova game September 22.
A win for the Raiders would be their fourth, the most they have experienced in one season since they got four on the gridiron in 2014 in Chris Moss' final season.
