FLASH NOTES: A game that was almost scoreless for the first quarter turned into Good Hope's advantage on homecoming. The Raiders finally took advantage of starting a drive deep in Cold Springs territory, taking it to the end zone on their series in the first quarter.
Cold Springs was stout early, keeping the Raiders from going into the end zone, stopping them at the Eagles' five and forcing a fumble that was recovered at the Cold Springs' 25.
But the Eagles had minus one yard of rushing for the first quarter, spending much of it inside their 20-yard line.
The field position was vital for the Raiders to take away any momentum and put Cold Springs in a difficult position in the second quarter. Good Hope had scoring drives of 57, 63 and 67 yards that allowed them to break the assignment open.
In the second quarter, the Raiders netted 200 yards total offense, showing balance by rushing for 110 and throwing for 90.
By halftime, Quick was 10 of 19 for 176 yards and three touchdowns. Dixon's TD was the longest pass completion of the night for the sophomore, who wore No. 1 to honor injured teammate Matt Hancock.
Hancock tore his ACL on the first play last week in a 26-14 loss to Cordova. Hancock had surgery and is now in the process of recovering from the torn ligament damage.
Good Hope managed 274 yards offense by the break with the Eagles held to 14 yards and zero first downs.
Two drives by the Raiders to start the third period ended in turnovers. Quick gained 17 yards, then fumbled with the Eagles getting on it at the Good Hope 49.
The Eagles got a 12-yard run from Calvin McNabb for their initial first down of the contest. But the Eagles turned the ball over on downs twice at the Good Hope 32 and the Cold Springs 34, with no points to show for.
Quick closed out the scoring by running it up the middle from the Eagles' 34 as the Raiders sent the starters to the sidelines in the final period while the reserves kept the shutout in tact.
The Eagles were unable to drive inside the Good Hope 25 all night. Their final two series ended with an interception by Mason Moniz for the Raiders at the Good Hope 32 and time running out on the last possession.
Quick finished completing 13 of 24 passes for 230 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He ran for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Dixon just rushed for 41 yards, but had four receptions for 81 yards and a score. Carlton caught three passes for 59 yards and a touchdown, Bagwell two catches for 38 yards and Moniz two receptions for 26 yards.
Austin Lively ran for six yards before he left the game in the third quarter with a leg injury. McNabb gained 32 yards to lead the Eagles. They were held to 89 yards total offense and managed five first downs, one by a Good Hope penalty.
Good Hope netted 387 yards offense, 14 first downs, 157 by the run, scoring on five possessions out of 12.
The Raiders snapped a 10-game losing streak at James Shabel Stadium while the Eagles have now suffered eight straight losses on the road since last season.
Student-athlete Kate Kent was crowned Homecoming Queen prior to the contest.
