FLASH NOTES: A tie game at halftime turned into Hanceville's advantage in the second half by outscoring Good Hope 34-18 in extending their winning streak to six in a row.
Good Hope went ahead to start the third on a three by Leyton Seal to make it 25-25. A four-point play from Cassidy Campbell sent Hanceville on top 26-25 and never behind for the rest of the evening.
Christina Watson's Lady Bulldogs closed out the third quarter on a 12-5 run, getting the lead to 38-30.
Hanceville used a big second half by Lauren Roberson who produced eight points off the bench, scoring twice from long range and hitting a pair of free throws. That allowed the lead to continue to extend with Hanceville defeating Good Hope for the third time this season.
Kelly Pickett was effective in short range shooting, hitting seven of 12. Kierra Merriweather was supportive with five of seven. Merriweather led the team with six rebounds. Campbell converted three treys and the four-point play to set the tone for fine play all night. Campbell finished with four rebounds and three assists.

OAKMAN - Hanceville Lady Bulldogs took matters into their own hands Friday night, defeating Oakman's Lady Wildcats 57-39 that clinched the regular season title in Class 3A, Area 12.
Hanceville is 5-0, eliminating Oakman from a chance to possibly tie the Lady Bulldogs if they could claim victory.
Coach Christina Watson's Lady Bulldogs led 27-25 at the half, then put the game out of reach with a 30-14 second half run.
Hanceville is 11-8 overall, winning three straight after they started January's schedule with a 56-44 loss to Cold Springs.
Hanceville closes Area 12 play Tuesday at home vs. Vinemont then will meet J.B. Pennington at Lane Horton Gym next Friday. The game vs. Pennington will be carried live on WKUL-FM.
Hanceville squeezed out a 66-64 victory over Oakman Friday night, ending a 2-game losing streak. The win kept the Bulldogs in a first place tie with Carbon Hill, who defeated Vinemont.
Hanceville is 4-1 in 3A, Area 12 with its finale on Tuesday to be at home against Vinemont. The Bulldogs could use an Oakman upset of Carbon Hill that could possibly keep a coin toss from taking place later this month.
