FLASH NOTES: In a game where the lead switched sides on the scoreboard time and time again, the drama was raised to high excitement in the final half minute for the Lady Bulldogs.
Hanceville was down by a point when the Lady Bulldogs forced a turnover and converted it when shooting guard Malia Howell landed a three from the left baseline that put them back in front at 45-44.
Good Hope was unable to produce a go ahead score and had to foul PG Kelly Pickett with 5.5 seconds to play. Pickett made both attempts in upping the score to 47-44.
The final shot of the game by the Lady Raiders' Leyton Seal was waived off as time expired with Seal committing a travel violation.
With the game even at 8-8 through the first period, Good Hope broke the tie in the final minute of the second on a free throw and a field goal by Erika Woodall. Woodall stepped up with a defensive play, in blocking Pickett's shot attempt from the right wing as the horn sounds.
The Lady Raiders headed to the locker room with a two-point lead and in a position to cool off a hot Hanceville squad.
Three-point shooting took over in the third quarter as Cassidy Campbell scored twice for Hanceville with Campbell and Howell dropping in a long ranger each.
Seal sparked Good Hope with three treys after being held scoreless through the opening half.
In the fourth, the Lady Raiders went to work with center Kate Kent who scored three close range field goals and a free throw. Bailey Swann had two huge baskets as well with the Lady Raiders coming from behind at 33-30 to start the period to lead by four with the game entering crunch time.
The deficit was cut to 44-42 heading inside the final minute. Hanceville's defense stood out when needing to get a stop. That allowed them to work the ball downcourt and Howell responded with her third three-pointer of the game.
Pickett then calmly made the two free throws with 5.5 left to force Good Hope to have to come down and try to tie with a three.
Christina Watson's Lady Bulldogs have won nine of their last 11 games, head into the playoffs with an 8-3 home record and defeated Amanda Swann's Lady Raiders for the fourth time on the season.
Good Hope was coming off celebrating its senior night on Thursday in a 63-9 rout of Vinemont.
Friday night belonged to Hanceville producing a win to celebrate senior night with Johnson, the lone senior for the Lady Bulldogs.

FLASH NOTES: Good Hope began the second quarter with a three by Cole Maddox and a layup from Drew Maddox to snap a 19-19 tie and go ahead 24-19.
After that spurt for the Raiders, Hanceville controlled the remainder of the half. With 10 points coming from Raiden Morgan on two field goals and two treys, three treys by RJ Evans and two field goals by Zeke McDonald, the Bulldogs closed out the second with a 23-4 blitz and a 42-28 advantage at halftime.
Issac McDonald for the Raiders was shut out in the first half by the Bulldogs. That changed in the third period when he knocked a FG, a three and five free throws to guide the Raiders on an 18-10 run and get them back in striking distance at 53-46.
Cole Maddox and Noah Fendley became the offense that carried Drew Adams' Raiders
in the fourth to get the game tied at 55-55.
However, Hanceville reloaded with Brendan Flanigan going six of eight from the line, McDonald scoring twice from the floor and two from the line and Evans delivering a three plus a free throw. The Bulldogs jumped back in front at 66-58, claiming an 11-3 run that was just enough to keep the Raiders at arms length.
Good Hope failed six times in free throw attempts as the Bulldogs were 10 of 16 in the fourth quarter in comparison to Good Hope going four for 10.
The Bulldogs picked up their second victory of the week in a three-game span on the home floor.
Good Hope had defeated the Bulldogs January 9 at home. The Bulldogs salvaged a split in the season series and overcame a slump in which they had lost back to back games between January 22 and the 29th.
