ADDISON, MEEK ADVANCE IN VB:

  HUNTSVILLE - Defending 1A state champion Addison has advanced to the Final Four of the AHSAA Northwest Volleyball Regional. 
  The Lady Bulldogs are joined by their arch rival from the town of Arley, the Meek Lady Tigers. Both prevailed in two assignments Thursday at the Von Braun Center.
  Addison romped over Cherokee in the first round, 25-5, 25-3, 25-3. In the quarterfinals, the No. 1 team in the 1A ranks belted Spring Garden 25-9, 25-4, 25-11.
  Meek is in the bottom bracket. The Lady Tigers took care of Covenant Christian 25-6, 25-9, 25-9, then eliminated Cedar Bluff in the quarters, 25-11, 25-12, 25-16.
  Addison gets Decatur Heritage at 2:00 p.m. Friday in a rematch of last year's regional final and state championship final.
   Meek is up against Athens Bible in a 2:00 p.m. assignment. Both teams have qualified for next week's state tournament in Birmingham.

FOOTBALL:
  Addison has clinched second place in 1A, Region 7 thanks to Lynn's 27-13 victory over Decatur Heritage Thursday night.
   Lynn finishes region play at 6-0 with Addison 5-1. The loss for Heritage drops them to third with a 4-2 record.
    Addison will be hosting a first round playoff game on November 10 with the opponent to be announced.
    The Bulldogs are idle this week. They will take a 7-2 record into the regular season finale next Friday against Winston County.
