FLASH NOTES: Scottsboro led 46-44 heading to the fourth when Huntsville got a couple of threes by Emma Stephenson to move the Crimson Panthers into the lead to stay.
With 4:00 remaining, Huntsville was ahead 55-49 and maintained the advantage for the rest of the way by shooting 14 of 18 from the foul line in the fourth.
The Panthers knocked down their final four FT attempts inside the last minute and headed home with a hard fought victory over the No. 5 team in the Class 5A state prep poll.
Huntsville broke Scottsboro's 15-game winning streak. The last time the Lady Wildcats lost before today was at Austin on November 21 by the score of 49-48.
Huntsville is 3-1 in January and is scheduled to host 6A power Hazel Green on Tuesday night. Scottsboro will try to regroup Tuesday evening in a home matchup vs. Fort Payne.

FLASH NOTES: Ramsay rolled over Bob Jones from the start, enjoying a 42-13 lead at halftime.
Bob Jones had a productive third quarter, outscoring the Birmingham school 17-12, but struggled with seven points in the final stanza.

Mae Jemison 17 13 19 15 3 - 67 (11-9)

FLASH NOTES: An entertaining game that went back and forth right from the beginning.
In the final half minute of regulation, Mae Jemison scored on a short range jumper to lead 64-61.
Then Ramsay answered by scoring from three-point range with 0:25 that created even numbers on the scoreboard and an extra four minutes of basketball.
Ramsay was able to get the lead and hang on in the extra period as two tries from long range by Mae Jemison in the final seconds fell short.
GAME # 4 GIRLS:
Hoover 8 14 18 16 - 56 (16-0)
Sparkman 6 19 7 19 - 51 (15-4)

SPARKMAN: Deyana Dodd 18
FLASH NOTES: A rematch of last year's Northwest Regional final at the Coliseum was a tight one with Sparkman surging ahead at the half on a 19-14 second period run by scoring a three as time expired to lead 25-22.
No. 1 Hoover regrouped in the third period, putting on an 18-7 advantage as No. 3 Sparkman struggled to stay with the defending state champion.
Sparkman got behind by 10 and was able to whittle the deficit to five before time ran out on the Lady Senators' comeback.
Hoover was the only team to enter the shootout undefeated and remain perfect on the 2017-18 schedule.

FLASH NOTES: Sparkman was able to establish control with a 17-9 first period lead and raised the advantage to 40-23 at the half.
Clay Chalkville got within 50-37 after the third had enough, but was unable to draw any closer.
