 FLASH NOTES:

Basketball at times, is not easy to analyze. Sometimes, teams, not expected to rise to the occasion, can pull off surprises.
This was seen in Game 3 Tuesday when Albertville prevailed over Hartselle on its home floor. Albertville caught Hartselle flat, jumping to a fast 11-0 lead. All that did was wake up Hartselle in going on a 14-2 run and taking the lead late in the first half.
Shaken slightly, Albertville showed poise and went back on top, holding a 23-19 advantage at the half.
A good start in the second half enabled Albertville to get the lead to over double digits by the time the game reached the 10:00 mark.
Hartselle never really was able to get into a run for a comeback with Albertville executing on both ends of the floor to put together an astounding performance in the summer day series.
Brewer had two assignments with a defending state champion and state runner-up, earning a split.
From a tough time scoring in a 54-28 loss to Hazel Green with only 11 second half points, Brewer regrouped against 4A power Deshler in the early afternoon.
A 20-19 lead for Brewer at the break, became breathing room with a 28-point second half outing, scoring from close range and knocking down perimeter shots too.
