It's the stretch run of Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) baseball.
Area play has six games remaining for each, with the area assignments to come to a conclusion on April 12.
Heading into Thursday (April 5), this is how the standings are for teams Sportspage covers on a regular basis.
6A, Area 14:
Cullman 4-0, Albertville 3-1, Fort Payne 1-3, Brewer 0-4.
FLASH NOTES: Cullman took over sole possession of the area lead by shutting out Albertville 10-0 Tuesday at Bill Shelton Field. Fort Payne got into the win column in the are area by defeating Brewer 9-1.
Thursday, Cullman plays two games at Albertville with Fort Payne on its way for a twinbill vs. Brewer.
Next week, Cullman finishes area play with a series against Brewer and Albertville tangles with Fort Payne.
5A, Area 12:
West Point 3-1, Fairview 2-2, Hayden 2-2, Curry 1-3.
FLASH NOTES: West Point stayed on top of Area 12 in getting past Curry 3-1 Tuesday. Hayden topped Fairview 4-3 to create a tie for 2nd place.
West Point is at Curry Thursday while Fairview hosts Hayden. Both assignments are doubleheaders, starting at 4:30. Fairview needs to take two in order to stay near the top while West Point is looking for continued success while in Walker County.
West Point and Fairview match up next week to end area action with the other series to be between Hayden and Curry.
4A, Area 10:
Cordova 3-1, Dora 1-2, Good Hope 0-1.
FLASH NOTES: Good Hope could not hold the lead in its area opener on the home diamond Tuesday, falling to Cordova 5-1. Cordova scored 3 times in the 4th and 2 in the 5th after trailing 1-0 when the Raiders scored in their half of the 1st.
Good Hope gets on the bus to visit Cordova for two on Thursday. Raiders are facing must win situation. Cordova can clinch the area title by sweeping the Raiders as they finish out their area schedule.
Good Hope and Dora play next week with playoff implications hanging in the series.
2A, Area 13:
Falkville 6-0, Winston County 4-2, Cold Springs 2-4, St. Bernard 0-6.
FLASH NOTES: Falkville swept Cold Springs earlier this week to maintain an undefeated record in the area. Winston County took the series from St. Bernard with Cold Springs in third place heading to the final week of the area schedule.
Cold Springs has St. Bernard for three next week, Monday at St. Bernard and a twinbill Tuesday at Donald Freeman Field.
The Eagles are hoping Falkville sweeps Winston County and the Eagles can move into second by defeating St. Bernard in three. Falkville goes to Winston County Monday with the series to conclude next Tuesday in Falkville.
Holly Pond, Hanceville and Vinemont have been eliminated from playoff contention in 3A, Area 11 (HP) and 3A, Area 12 (HV, VM) games.
AHSAA baseball postseason begins the weekend of April 20. Area champions will host a runner-up from a neighboring area.
The playoff format is the best of three each round.
The AHSAA state championship series for each class will be the week of May 14-19 in Montgomery at Lagoon Park and Riverwalk Stadium.
