FLASH NOTES: Cullman needed a victory in order to stay near the top of Region 7 with a trip to Oxford waiting for the Bearcats next week. Cullman turned the tables on the Aggies after Albertville ripped them apart 44-13 at home last season.
Good Hope was stunning No. 4 Fayette County at the half, leading 12-7. Then the visitors woke up, scoring four times in the second half to keep the Raiders from pulling off the upset. The Raiders have not won at James Shabel Stadium since the middle of the 2015 season.
Fairview lost a close contest at home to Corner with George Redding still a win from tying Dafford Smith as the winningest coach in Aggie history (65).
Cold Springs was shut out for the first time this season with Hanceville and Vinemont managing a TD in one-side losses in 3A, Region 6.
Holly Pond was outscored 26-6 in the second half in Blountsville to J.B. Pennington after trailing 22-14 at the break. The Broncos lost for the first time this season.
