FLASH NOTES: On the brink of defeat in the first set, West Point stayed close with Curry then took advantage of mistakes from the Yellow Jackets. Allie Downs broke a tie with a service point to make it 25-24, needing a point to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
But West Point broke service when a volley by Molly Pendley went over to tie the score. With the Lady Warriors now serving, Sarah Chapman scored twice, her only points in the set and West Point turned a loss into a 1-0 match lead.
Selena Clark handed out seven assists from the setter position with plenty of kills coming up front by Mackenzie Carter, Lexi Shadix and Josie Huckaby, Huckaby converted four in playing her best of the season for Regina Jones.
Clark, Shadix and Gracie Thompson sparked the serving attack during the second set with West Point running out to a 14-3 cushion following six straight points by Thompson. Curry got within 17-10 then West Point turned up the intensity by dominating the rest of the set.
Curry attempted to avoid a sweep in this 5A, Area 13 match. The Yellow Jackets led 12-11 before West Point moved ahead with Shadix setting the tone at the net, getting great passes by Clark to to have four kills in crunch time.
A block by Huckaby on a serve by Thompson made it 20-15 then Thompson did the rest to complete the sweep in an hour and nine minutes. She had the final six points with her serves not easy to handle between Curry's front line and back row.
Curry dropped to 1-10 and is 0-2 in the area. West Point is currently third in the area standings behind Fairview who is 2-0 and Hayden 1-1.

FLASH NOTES: Good Hope has picked up confidence with tri-match sweeps in consecutive days on the road.
The Lady Raiders celebrate of winning a tiebreaking set for the first time for new coach Natasha Holcombe.
West Point knows what it's like to play a tiebreaker. This was the third one for them on the young season and unfortunately the third time they fell in the tiebreaking procedure. All three tiebreakers have taken place at Jim Boyd Gymnasium.
Good Hope was confident after sweeping Curry and played well in the first set, moving on top to stay at 5-4 by a kill from middle blocker Kate Kent.
Jesse Kent delivered two key plays, a kill and a block that upped the margin to 15-9. West Point broke service briefly with Good Hope back in control, keeping the Lady Warriors at arms length to gain a 1-0 lead in this hotly contested match.
Kate Kent blocked the ball at the net for a score to lift Good Hope to a 22-14 edge. West Point trimmed it to 22-17 on three straight service points by Gracie Thompson.
Then Jesse Kent responded with another kill, a kill by Leyton Seal and Good Hope won the set when West Point served the ball into the net on set point. Avery McClure was in tone with her serve during game two. Three straight broke a tie putting West Point up 11-8. Molly Pendly scored four in a row with assistance by Mackenzie Carter with a kill and a volley. The score was then 18-11 Lady Warriors.
Kills by Josie Huckaby and Carter plus a net foul on Good Hope ended the second set, sending the match to a decisive third game.
West Point grabbed a 4-2 lead on a block from Meredith Calvert. Carter served with accuracy as the lead went to 8-4. Back came Good Hope. The Lady Raiders were down 13-10 when they rallied by Kate Kent with two service points, Jesse Kent a block and the score was tied at 13-13.
Huckaby converted a kill off an assist from Clark with West Point ahead 14-13 and serving for the match. Sadie Fendley took a pass from Ally Knight and volleyed the ball over for another tie at 14-14.
With Good Hope serving, Pendley scored thanks to a kill by Jesse Kent to regain the lead. Then Seal ended the thriller, taking a pass from Knight, smashing the ball on to the net that landed in an open area on West Point's side of the court.
The Lady Raiders have a 4-game winning streak, a season high heading into a home tri-match Thursday with Dora and Hanceville. Dora is an area game with the match to be the best of five.
West Point gets another tri-match at Jim Boyd Gym Thursday, meeting Cold Springs and East Lawrence.
