FLASH NOTES: After Good Hope had cut West Point's margin to two points at the half, the Warriors were able to perform at a higher rate in the final 16:00 than the Raiders, keeping Good Hope at arms length to claim a hard fought semifinal victory and return to Wallace State Saturday night, with a championship hanging in the balance.
Contributions came from many for the Warriors to defeat the Raiders for the second time in three meetings this season. Dalton White overcame a slump at the foul line in which he missed five straight in the third quarter by knocking down his final six tries. The free throws from White were critical when the Warriors were on the verge of putting away a determined Good Hope squad.
Jones also delivered down the stretch with five FTs, plus key assists in finding open targets such as Kolton Sapp and Colby Sullins, who combined for six treys and five FGs from their backcourt position.
West Point led 46-39 heading to the fourth and was able to put together a 21-point final period, taking advantage of half a dozen Good Hope turnovers in the quarter in building the lead to double figures with time running down.
