FLASH NOTES: West Point and Danville swapped the lead on the Jim Boyd Gymnasium scoreboard numerous times heading into the final quarter of their assignment Tuesday night.
Danville went up 48-43 with 5:00 remaining, keeping the Warriors scoreless until Randy Jones' ball club made adjustments and finished with a 17-2 run to get them into the semifinal round.
Laney came through with a three-pointer at the 3:19 mark that moved West Point ahead to stay at 50-48. Laney also scored from the field and knocked down two free throws with 17 seconds remaining that extended the advantage.
West Point got its final eight points at the foul line in 10 attempts with Laney, Rylan Jones and Austin Dubberly sharing the honors of being accurate when it very much counted.
